In Doggo Veritas

狗後吐真言

Our love for dogs knows no bounds, and that passion drives us to travel the globe, sourcing and crafting legacy-quality dogwear for our community in Hong Kong. We believe the bond we share with them is one of life’s sweetest rewards, and your best friend deserves the very best-in-market gear that puts them first—never anything less.

The Founder: Michelle Kwong

With an academic background in the History & Philosophy of Science (UCL) and a JD & LLM in Medical Ethics & Law (HKU), Michelle is trained to dissect complex health related issues by borrowing historical, philosohpical, ethical, legal, and social lenses. Her approach is rooted in analytical rigour: every solution must be grounded in empirical evidence before being accepted. Driven by the pursuit to deliver change and tangible impact, after building a foundation in legal research, legal publishing, and legal recruitment, Micheclle took a sabatical for intensive clinical work at the SPCA. This pivotal experience bridged abstract ethics and the realities of animal welfare for the founder, which later became the crucible for In Doggo Veritas.

The catalyst was her Golden Retriever’s recovery from elbow dysplasia. She refused to accept a market prioritising aesthetics over functional, sustainable health. Motivated by the need for better solutions, she became a Certified Human-Animal Bond Professional and Pet Nutrition Coach (NAVC, HABRI), and sought mentorship from a Crufts Champion to rethink canine companionship. Two years transformed her best friend Gummy from a patient into a resilient athlete. She is excited to launch In Doggo Veritas as Hong Kong’s first inaugural gear house. We are here to bridge the gap between peak canine performance and ecological integrity. From our initial designs to our final delivery, sustainability is at the heart of every decision we make. We are building a future where loving our dogs never has to come at the expense of our planet.

Meet Gummy: Our Head of Barketing

Born in April 2022, Gummy is the driver of In Doggo Veritas. A Golden Retriever is a cliche family dream dog, and our family adopted her from a mutual friend's accident litter. After a rocky start with health hurdles, Gummy blossomed into a stable, focused athlete whose work ethic continues to surprise us each day. She taught us that the greatest gift of having a dog is learning to unlearn—allowing us to strip away our own expectations and truly bond with the unique character underneath.

Gummy takes her choices seriously. It is always wonderful to give her options on equipment; her logic is:

  • Canuzzo harness: Her zen mode. A breezy, "stop-and-sniff-the-roses" kind of stroll.
  • Non-stop gear: Game face on. She instantly locks into focus, ready to crush our 4 am strength-and-conditioning runs through Sheung Wan.

At In Doggo Veritas, our testing is non-negotiable. Gummy puts every sample through its paces for six months straight. If she doesn't love it, we don't shelf it—full stop. At the end of the day, she’s our benchmark and decision making north star. She reminds us every single day: don't just lead—listen to what your dog is sayins; because dogs are here to break our assumptions!

Meet Brio: Our Fitting Assistant

Born in April 2024, Brio was adopted by us when he was just two months old. We first met him in the back of the restroom, where volunteers kept him separate from the other dogs. After one month of kennel cough treatment delayed by antibacterial resistance, Brio tipped our world upside down the moment he decided he must show us who he is. He attended his first dog-sports-dance seminar at just three months old, and we’ve been training for competitions ever since with our mentor’s remote guidance. Brio is constantly showing us what small dogs can achieve. It is always a joy to witness his commitment to both his sport and his career, despite his size and unpolished genetics.

As a 6.3kg Pomeranian, Brio has a very specific way of bonding: he’ll flip upside down the second he likes you enough, insisting on belly rubs at the exact angles that suit him best (hours on end). He’s a little dog with a big personality and we love him very much.

Brio is also our secret weapon when it comes to design. He challenges our gear to be "lighter than light," because when you’re built on a small frame, every single gram counts. If he can’t move, dance, and sport with absolute freedom, it doesn’t pass his inspection. Brio shows us every day that mustard seeds can move mountains. Our dreams may be small, but for the dog that chooses our gear, the impact is never anything but.
