Human life jackets are tested using an ISO-standard, but this has not been applied to life jacket for dogs yet. The Protector Life Jacket is like no other because it was developed and tested against a system as close as possible to human standards. The biggest issues with current market designs are breathability, mobility, and size. Most dog life jackets are bulky, thick, therefore difficult for dogs to move freely with. Dangers include overheating during hot summer days, both on land and in water.

Non-stop’s experts in dog anatomy took biomechanics, buoyancy, breathability seriously:

• HexiVent material: On the dog’s back, highly breathable material was used so that water can flow through, and the ventilated top prevents your dog from overheating.
• Unique SAFE-R buoyancy construction: this mechanism ensures that the dog is stable relative to waterline. The foam placed on the side increases buoyancy, and therefore freedom of movement. The panels are split into sections so that your dog can turn without restrictions.
• Safe-T Wrap systems: this evenly distributes pressure and makes the vest more comfortable, and safer for your dog.
• Sturdy handle: A strong handle is built in so that you can lift your dog up from the water to the paddleboard, the dock, or in the boat.
• Reflective stripe and bright colours: increased visibility makes it easier for you to spot your pup in water.
• 3 Attachment Points for rehab: in addition to the leash attachment point at the back, there are two extra attachment points on to the side of the life jacket, allowing you to adjust direction and resistance (orange version only). This is particularly useful on the water treadmill for rehabilitation purposes, or in a swimming pool.
• Back pocket: small items can be stored in the back pocket, if needed.
